Abstract: Activity-based workflow
modeling (AWM) is a common and useful
modeling technique, whose fundamental drawbacks limit its effectiveness in
modeling complex, highly nuanced workflows. Contextual workflow
modeling, a technology invented at Macronetics, overcomes the limitations of AWM.

Abstract: In contrast to traditionally investing in automation technologies for better use of tangible assets, enterprises have begun to invest in optimizing human capital. Human capital management, or talent management, is a set of human resources practices focusing on the acquisition, management, and optimization of the enterprise workforce.
Abstract: Client relationship management (CRM) technology can help capital-markets firms streamline investment banking activities, increase brokerage trade volume, and meet compliance challenges. As a nerve center for information about clients, prospects, institutions, syndicate partners, and other contacts, the right CRM system enables capital-markets firms to share intelligence, coordinate activities, and derive advantage from an integrated body of corporate knowledge and relationships.
Abstract: Business process management notation (BPMN) is an initiative to increase standardization within process modeling. What are the principles of BPMN, and what is the value of BPMN to vendors and organizations using business process modeling?
Abstract: Human Capital Management (HCM) is a strategic approach to people management that focuses on the knowledge, skills, abilities and capacity to develop and innovate possessed by people in an organisation (source: "Human Capital Management [HCM]: Achieving Added Value Through People", by Angela Baron & Michael Armstrong).
Abstract: Two-thirds of the 400 survey participants in a 2007 Aberdeen report about inventory management place a high priority on working capital optimization. Many companies are reconsidering their business strategies, including implementing appropriate technology platforms that help automate supply chain processes. Learn about cost-effective and practical ways to reduce inventory so that working capital can be released.
Abstract: In times of economic uncertainty, you need to actively seek out best practices in how to adopt practical working capital optimization to improve financial performance while maintaining customer satisfaction. Learn about the three key performance criteria that define best-in-class organizations, and how they’re making their focus within the supply chain on working capital—primarily by optimizing inventory management.
Abstract: Three problems are common to most complex environmental modeling efforts: they’re uncertain, multifaceted, and hard to communicate. Overcoming these challenges is especially important when modeling the performance of proposed and existing radioactive waste management facilities. Graphical simulation tools can help represent uncertainties, integrate all aspects of the system, and ease the presentation of complex models.
Abstract: All government projects must be run as efficiently as possible. Modeling and simulation tools can help maximize efficiency and predict the costs and risks associated with many government projects. Model-building templates, plus features that allow users to share and re-use models and create custom models, can help government successfully design and complete major environmental and infrastructural projects. Find out more.
Abstract: Bridging the gap between an application’s problem domain and its code can be difficult, even for the best software engineers. Bridging these two diverse worlds—each with its own language—requires a finished application that creates an intersection between the two. By building a domain-specific modeling (DSM) language and generator using MetaEdit+, engineers close the gap and pave the way to better productivity.
Abstract: Learning Review's Veronica Inoue interviewed two representatives of the Interamerican Federation of Human Resource Management Associations (Federación Interamericana de Asociaciones de Gestión Humana), who attended the Human Management Conference held by la Asociación de Recursos Humanos de la Argentina.
Abstract: Although the human resources department has long been seen as a necessary evil at best, the scope of human resources management systems (HRMS) has been extended to include recruiting, competency management, training, time management, performance management, and so forth.
Abstract: I'm Sherry Fox, human resources (HR) research analyst and manager of Technology Evaluation Centers’ Research Analyst Group. Welcome to this month’s enterprise software Showdown! Abstract: Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Enterprise asset management (EAM) system. Computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) system. Integrated workplace management system (IWMS). Each type of facility management solution offers different functionalities and features, and one may be better than another for your company’s needs. Learn more about the differences and how an integrated solution is a “must have.”
Abstract: Business process management (BPM) is ultimately about people, not technology. While technology enables BPM, it is people who lead, manage, and participate in business processes. However, BPM vendors have not traditionally focused on human-centric needs. A human-centric perspective can transform BPM from a cold automation system into an intuitive, user-friendly tool that eliminates redundancy and accelerates how work gets done.
Abstract: Human capital is the most valuable asset of any organization and human resources must be more strategic and provide more value, rather than be solely a cost center. A new talent acquisition model that integrates assessments in an automated screening process can help effectively and efficiently yield consistently higher-quality candidates with the demonstrated skills, behaviors, and work style that are required to succeed.
Abstract: SPECTRUM Human Resource Systems Corporation’s human resource information system (HRIS), iVantage 5.0, is now TEC Certified. Abstract: Over 80 percent of consultants in service organizations consider spreadsheet-based business plan modeling inadequate. Weak client–partner relationships reflect this inadequacy. An integrated business planning and modeling platform can provide deeper insight into a range of strategic and operational issues. Find out how this can result in enhanced decision making and optimized long-term client engagement and satisfaction.
